You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. – Khalil Gibran

Living Arrows – a portrait a week of my two children.

We have had a good fireworks related weekend just gone. We popped along to the Wild Wolf display in Bounds Green (Bets and I visited last year and we fell in love a bit. It feels a lot more traditional than a lot of the bigger displays, with two bonfires – one for toasting marshmallows in and another for singing songs around the campfire. It’s run by scouts in their wooded scout camp and it makes for a very special evening.

Betsy loved the fireworks, Arthur got a bit scared.

The marshmallow campfire

Last night we did what most families did (at least the ones I saw on Instagram anyway…) – eat baked potatoes and play with sparklers in the back garden.

Betsy looks so witchy in that last photo!

  1. Hi Charlotte, it sounds like a lot of effort was put into the Wild Wolf display. Singing songs and toasting marshmallows is how childhood memories are made. I love the top two photos, the girls’ are so engrossed in the display.

Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.

    xx

  2. I promised N a play with sparklers (or more likely a torch), but we didn’t get to a display so haven’t done it yet. Will have to try soon #livingarrows
