Hello, January! Are we all settling into 2015 nicely? Good! Our week started with a bang with a wedding in Oxfordshire (it was brilliant and the venue amazing. I may post some pictures later) and went very quiet after that. NYE was supposed to be just me and Dave and a couple of ciders, but Arthur being a little unsettled with all the places we’ve stayed at recently, wouldn’t sleep unless it was on top of someone, so the three of us rang in the new year and watched the fireworks on the telly. Betsy was woken up by the fireworks outside, so she and I sleepily watched the fireworks through our bedroom window (we’re on top of a hill and can see a whole swathe of Enfield and the Lea Valley) before coming downstairs and all four of us all watching a little bit of the Hootenanny. We were all in bed by half twelve. Rock n roll!
Betsy’s first ever role as a bridesmaid. She was so cold by the time the procession started, she sat down in protest in the middle of the aisle and Dave had to pick her up and move her out the way, poor thing. She mostly had fun though, there was lots of dancing and exploring of the venue’s gardens but everything got a bit too much so we were tucked up in bed by eight watching the Christmas lectures on BBC4 while Dave and Arthur partied on.
This guy! He’s still getting over the end of his cold and his sleep is atrocious at the moment. There’s so much to do in the evening, but I’m stuck looking after him. But how can I be annoyed with this face?
