Here we go again, a list at the beginning of the year in which I grossly overestimate my ability to get my arse in gear and actually do things. I suspect that the one thing I will do is have a baby, but as that project started in September (or was it August?) that’s cheating.
So here we are, my List of Fail 2014 (I am ever the optimist).
Learn to knit. I’ve been meaning to do this for years and know a tiny amount, but it would be good to know more, so I’m going to participate in Knit Camp over on Slugs on the Refrigerator this Jan. I have my needles and yarn all ready. That said, I found the crochet hooks my sister bought for me years ago, so maybe I should get round to doing a bit of that too?
Take more photos (and try to improve a little). This is on my list every year. Some years I succeed, others (like 2013) I don’t. Morning sickness and general preggo tiredness has made me lose my mojo a bit and it would be nice to get back into the swing of things. Doing Project 365 is just too much, but I think I’ll be joining along with I Heart Snapping’s Living Arrows project.
Get out more. I miss London, I don’t see it anywhere near as much as I used to. Must pop into town more often rather than hanging around Enfield when I’m not working. Also, we need to explore the countryside (or at least the wooded areas in Trent Park and Hilly Fields) more with Betsy in tow, she showed us while we were on holiday how much she is fascinated by nature and the outdoors and we haven’t really let her explore it more often. Also, go to Dorset and Devon to see relatives and visit Brighton more often too.
Cook more and use my damn cookbooks. Another one from last year, but I have collected more books over the past year and I really should use them a bit more.
Remember. It’s going to be a big year this year, tough and emotional, but joyous too. But hopefully with the taking of more photos and blogging a bit more regularly too (another resolution, although with the new babe, we’ll see how long that lasts!), I’ll have a good record of how the year pans out.
Have a super 2014 everyone, hope the year delivers everything you need.
