It’s such sad news to hear bout the death of Rik Mayall. As a child of the eighties, I feel I’ve grown up with him a bit and with all heroes you think they’ll live forever. I’m not the greatest of writers at the best of times, so I’ll just direct you to Mark Lawson’s tribute in the Guardian and Simon Hickson’s brilliant piece on the Trev and Simon’s blog. Also, some amazing person has uploaded the whole of Mayall reading George’s Marvellous Medicine on Jackanory which is a genuine highlight of all the TV I saw as a child. Watch and enjoy.
