I know it’s a bit late to still be posting retrospectives of last year, but eh. For a few years now my friends Joe and Dan compile a list of their top tracks from the year and post it on the internet. It’s the closest thing we can get to sitting around each other’s houses listening to records like we used to *feels old*. I’ve not made a list in a while, not because my passion for music has waned, far from it, but my memory is so bad these days, I can never remember any bands and I can rarely connect band names to tracks I hear on the radio *feels even older*.

So why am I writing this list now? Because tonight, for the first time in over five years I am off OUT, with friends no less, to see a BAND at an actual PROPER GIG.

I’m rather excited if you can’t guess and we’re seeing Lanterns one the Lake, if you’re interested.

Anyway, here’s a little playlist of some of my best tracks from last year, I hope you enjoy listening to them, the songs are in no particular order, but Stealing Sheep get first place because the video is brilliant:

Stealing Sheep – Apparition
FFS – Police Encounters
Grimes – Flesh without Blood
Julia Holter – Feel You
Vibronics – Searching For Jah (feat. Michael Prophet)
MY BABY – Seeing Red
Unknown Mortal Orchestra – Can’t Keep Checking My Phone
C Duncan – For (Autumn Rebuild)
Boxed In – Mystery
Thundercat – Them Changes’
U.S. Girls – Damn That Valley

If you fancy some more (much better) music, then have a listen to Joe’s and Dan’s lists.
