So tomorrow begins one of my most favourite projects of the year, Week In The Life. If you’re not aware of the project, it’s something that’s ran by Ali Edwards where in one week during the year, everything is documented. I love this project so much. It gets me thinking more about photography, there’s a brilliant crafty project at the end of it all where all the journalling is put into an album but most of all it makes me more present, thinking about what to record puts me more into the moment of the day and that can only be a good thing. This is my third year of doing this project, and one of the great things about this is seeing how the family has grown and chenged. This is the first year that we’ll be recording Betsy at school, the last year before Arthur goes to a nursery. The first year we don’t have a cat featuring (Marvin died in January, I’ve not quite brought myself to write about it). The last year we have our current car (maybe!). Routines and habits can change subtly, and this project records them before they change again.
I have to admit I have been feeling a bit uninspired about this week, I’ve not really been feeling any enthusiasm about this project until this weekend, and now I am raring to go! Looking through the past few years’ blog posts about it has been helpful.
This year I want to record a few things that don’t normally get recorded over the week. Things like:
I’m always behind the camera, it would be good to get in front a bit more!
So join me this week and you can follow me on our slightly mundane but brilliant life.
