Meal planning time! This week we are back at school and work so I need to be super organised because we’re all going to be a bit over-tired by the time evenings have rolled around. So hello slow cooker and very quick mid-week meals. This year I am also trying to challenge myself too. I have literally hundreds of cookbooks and they don’t get used enough, so I’m going to use a recipe from one of the books during the week. I may blog about it, I probably won’t, but it would be nice if I could!

Monday Rainbow trout, sweet potato fries, pickled carrots and cucumber.

Tuesday Turkey mince bolognaise, cooked in the slow cooker

Wednesday Some kind of vegetable tart, cooked on puff pastry.

Thursday Jacket potato and beans (maybe tuna or prawns, depends what the kiddos fancy)

Friday Lahmacun, from Claire Thomson’s The Five O’Clock Apron.

  1. I am another one who doesn’t use my cookbooks enough. It is so easy to rely on the same things or use websites now. Sounds like a yummy week, slow cooked bolognese is a favourite here.
