Little Loves – Goals, soup and lots of music

6 January, 2017 9 Comments

Hello, hello. A new year and a new linky for me. Well, not that new. Little Loves is a brilliant weekly linky hosted by Morgana that lets you take stock of the week. I have done it before, but not for months (years?) and it’s nice to be back.

All the blog posts regarding new year goals and resolutions. I LOVE reading what other people are planning. It’s so inspiring! There’s Natalie, Ali, Sian, Donna and Annie is planning a walk a day for 365 days which is awesome!

Apart from Cbeebies, I haven’t watched ANYTHING this week, I am watching less and less television these days. What I have watched this week is the kiddos becoming closer and closer. This week of Christmas holidays where it has been significantly less busy compared to the previous week has been so beneficial for these two.

My Spotify playlist of my favourite tracks from last year. There was some good music in 2016!

Last night I made the most amazing soup. I’ve been needing something a bit more nourishing recently so I made up a hot and sour soup using turkey stock, onion, all the ginger, garlic, chilli flakes, mushrooms, quinoa, carrots, kale, radish, miso and lime juice. Basically anything that’s vaguely healthy went in there. It was flipping lovely! And there’s enough for my lunch today too. Awesome.

super healthy soup

Thermals. I am SO cold!

And lastly…

It’s the last day of Betsy’s Christmas holiday so we’re going to have an adventure into London today. It’s been so nice having her around and not worry about school runs again. She is itching to go back to school again, I am not itching to go back to work. I am slightly concerned how we’re going to get to school on time on Monday though, none of us have been getting up before eight (which has been WONDERFUL) so that’ll be a manic time then. Ugh.

Have a good weekend!

We started back with the school routine yesterday and my gosh has it been a tough 2 days with the morning alarm! I definitely need to get back to earlier bed times otherwise it just isn’t happening haha! That soup looks pretty delicious! #littleloves

Oh that sounds amazing I will have to check the walk a day challenge. I really want to get outside way more this year as much as the weather will allow us. Even in the rain! I have had a lot of the same this week of soup and music too. Hope you had a lovely Christmas. Happy New Year, popping over from #littleloves!

Oh, I started back at school (I’m a teacher) on Wednesday and have to admit the earlier mornings and full work days have worn me out! That soup looks (and sounds) really healthy! Enjoy your weekend xx #LittleLoves

I’m dreading the back to school alarm too. We’ve been layzing around until gone 8am most mornings, but the alarm will soon be blaring out at 6.30 again – so not looking forward to Monday morning! Such a cute photo of your two, it’s lovely when they really bond in the holidays. Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Charlotte, it is nice to read what others have been up to, it can be quite inspiring. I have watched for too much telly over the holidays, but I have to be honest and say I have enjoyed the unusually late nights we’ve been having.

A nice hot soup cooked in the slow cooker has to be one of my favourite (and easiest)foods of the winter,

Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.
