It’s been a funny old week. I’m finding it hard to not look at what is happening over in the States and despair a bit. Time to look at the nice little things.
Read
I picked up Alan Partridge’s Nomad for sale just before Christmas and started reading it this week. It is HILAR. (that is a proper word. Well, it is now). I have been that weird smirking person on the Tube this week and I don’t care.
Watched
Far too much news which is depressing at the moment so I’m entertaining myself with various clips from this year’s Winterwatch. Especially the mumuration footage:
Heard
With Great Pleasure in which Sara Pascoe reads out excerpts from her favourite books including those brilliant responses Tina Fey wrote to trolls in Bossypants. Well worth a listen. It’s funny!
Made
Heidi from 101 Cookbooks posted this super simple recipe for pickled turmeric eggs the other day and I have made them quite a few times! I take a couple into work as part of my lunch. They’re yum!

Here’s a life lesson for you. When you’re at the height of cold and you’re feeling miserable, don’t, DON’T look at those beauty adverts on Instagram. You’ll think, “oh hey, that facemask looks brilliant and it’s definitely going to change my life” and then buy a cheaper version of said product on eBay and then when the product does arrive a week or so later in the post (after completely forgetting you’ve bought it) you try it on and all you succeed in doing is scaring the kids and looking a bit racist.
AARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHH.
And lastly…
I hope you all have a good weekend planned. We are off to visit my sister in Sussex where we’re taking the train and a bus rail replacement service. And it’s just me with the kids. Wish me luck! I’m going to need it.
Linking up with Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.
Enjoy your weekend! xx

I’m behind with Winterwatch! I hate rail replacement buses so I hope yours isn’t too painful. #littleloves

The ‘looking a bit racist’ may have made me snort laugh. I don’t think you’ll be using that face mask again! hehe. Those eggs look amazing, I’m off to check out the recipe – although I don’t have a hob at the moment, or a kitchen, but I’ll save it for later x

Ha ha ha you do look lovely in your face mask! Good luck with the rail replacement service, bet you’ll have a lovely time once you finally get there though x
Hi Charlotte, it’s nice to be that quietly smirking person. I bet Alan Partridge’s Nomad’s sales went up this week! Those turmeric pickled eggs sound interesting (I love eggs), I will pop over and check out that recipe. I hope your travels go well and that when you get to your sisters you aren’t too stressed.
Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.
