It’s that time of the week again! You know, that time I am typing this when I should be cooking dinner. Ho hum. Last week’s plan mentioned a dhal and it was so good I have made it twice now. How have I not made this before? It’s cheap, easy and bloody cheap. A definite winner there, it’s really good for my work lunches. All the protein this week is from the freezer as I’m still trying to empty it, I swear there’s a portal to Narnia in there, it’s never ending. Not that I’m really complaining, but it would be nice to have more meat free dinners. Anyway this week’s dinners are:


Monday: Pork chops and mustard mash for Dave and the kiddos (I’ll have some of the leftover dhal)

Tuesday: slow cooker Creole fish and corn stew

Wednesday: Tortellini and tomato sauce

Thursday: Korean BBQ lentils from Hungermama

Friday: We’re down at my folks this weekend, so I’m not sure. Fish fingers for the kiddos, maybe? Depends what Ma has in the freezer (hi Ma!)

  1. It all sounds great but I’m loving your Tuesday meal. I’m trying to find a use for a large red pepper and may either stuff it and cut in half or quarters or just go nuts with some omelets. Am also thinking lamb stew and using up some black lentils.
